- The Opportunity
Our client is an audio-visual tech business with customers across the UK. They've grown enormously over the past few years as a result of a customer-focussed approach and great customer service.
They are looking to hire a senior engineer with IT and AV experience to for a role which will be partly field based, attending customer both alone and with other engineers, and partly home-based providing remote support. You will need to be an adaptable, logical thinker, with a can-do attitude to join the team.
Youll typically be working on projects for new installations, upgrades and maintenance. As part of a team of 12 IT-AV engineers, each with something unique to bring to the team, you'll be able to grow and develop your knowledge and experience of IT and AV technology. With their ‘one team approach youll feel connected and part of the wider business of around 120 people.
With visits to sites mainly in the South, engineers are typically operational Monday to Friday, so weekends are your own

Their head office is in Sheffield, where youll initially come for your training and occasional re-training visits thereafter and there is an office in London.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Able to work to a flexible and responsive installation/service schedule with a UK-wide remit (though a focus on the South) and potential overnight stays on a weekly basis
Install, diagnose and repair technical problems in IT and Audio-Visual systems
Conduct routine maintenance and testing of systems, and ensure installations are to company standards
Provide remote telephone support when home-based (training, plus all laptops, phone and equipment will be provided)
Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds Company standards, stays in sync with customer standards, and follows safety requirements
Help deliver great customer service
Wanting to focus on continual improvements to processes, systems and skillsets
Based in London or the Home Counties salary is competitive plus company van, tools and other benefits.*
Your skills and experience
You may have a relevant technical degree or simply on the job experience we care more about your attitude and approach
You will be collaborative and supportive, enabling a one team approach, sharing knowledge and experience and being open to feedback and shared learnings
As a competent communicator, youll be able to interpret information verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical stakeholders and deliver the best experience for your customers
Always happy to be hands-on regardless of the scope or complexity of the work, including ensuring vehicles are optimally equipped, clean and organised
An active interest in developing technologies and an appetite for learning and knowledge sharing is important
You will take an active approach to your own learning journey and career progression
