- The Opportunity
Our client is a leading integrator, delivering high quality Audio Visual systems to blue chip corporate clients. Due to continued growth, they have identified the need for an additional AV Systems Designer to join their busy Design Team.
Reporting to the Design Director, you will be responsible for the technical oversight of a project from concept to completion. This will include brief taking in conjunction with the sales team, system design/BOM development, project handovers and co-ordination of documentation, co-ordination with the site architectural/design teams, change management and liaison with the in-house technical delivery teams.
You will be a key member of the overall project team and, in conjunction with the project manager, will be responsible for the successful project deployment. We are looking for talented individuals who can bring added technical expertise, design flair, excellent planning skills, original thought, and superb attention to detail to the existing team.
This is a challenging role and will require successful candidates to be able to hit the ground running, drawing on previous experience, to deliver exceptional AV systems in a process driven, fast turnaround environment.
Typically, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
Working independently on individual projects, taking full design responsibility.
The design of Audio-Visual systems from a brief received from the sales team, client, or consultant.
Pre-sales design advice and system verification for the sales team.
Attending project meetings.
Liaising with relevant project team members from various disciplines.
Site surveying and design verification.
Producing all proposal documentation including scope of works, system functionality, high level schematics and bills of materials.
Verification of design parameters using necessary calculations or manufacturer's software.
Technical evaluation of quotations created outside of the design team.
Guiding CAD and Design Technicians and ensuring their adherence to company Standards.
Checking and approving of CAD Technicians' drawings.
Controlling project documentation transmittal.
Adherence and maintenance of project folders ensuring all information enclosed is current and accurate, as per the company's quality management system.
Based near Oxford, the role can be hybrid with 3 days in the office and two working from home. Basic salary is £40k-£50k neg.doe plus to £4k p.a. bonus payable quarterly, subject to revenues, plus pension and other benefits.
Your skills and experience
Certified and in good standing as an AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
Certified and in good standing as an AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist - Design (CTS-D), would be advantageous.
AutoCAD experience advantageous as would Dante Certification and main AV manufacturers' certification,.
A thorough working knowledge and understanding of AV over IP system design and deployment.
A comprehensive working knowledge of current AV systems, the associated IT elements and their installations including Crestron, Extron, QSC, Audio DSP, Video Conferencing, Digital Signage etc.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
