- The Opportunity
Our client is expanding their team and looking for a permanent Audio Visual Projects Support Engineer.
Our client is an interdisciplinary collection of technical innovators, developers, UX/UI designers, engineers, content creators, producers, managers and creatives who
create brand engagement by designing experiences that employ technology and interactivity to enlighten and entertain, working for brands on activations, innovation
labs, employee experiences, and cultural sector projects.
Based in Greenwich and with offices in Dubai you will have occasional international travel.
WHAT YOU'RE THERE TO DO
Project Engineering
Support the wider team on presales operations.
Create, update and maintain project documentation, including (but not limited to) bills of materials (BoMs), system schematics, IP schedules and user manuals.
Provide assistance to Senior Engineers on large scale installations, including (but not limited to) offsite testing/staging, arranging shipping and logistics, manual handling, onsite 1st and 2nd fix (cable pulling and termination, installation of bracketry, AV equipment and server racks), commissioning, handover and training.
Take ownership of smaller installations and upgrades to existing client sites.
Oversee procurement of equipment and components.
Support Engineering
Follow processes for supporting installations at clients' sites.
Conduct reviews to assess and improve service levels.
Monitor systems at client sites to ensure they remain operational.
Share ownership of calendars for managing scheduled maintenance visits to client sites.
Visit client sites, where required, to perform scheduled maintenance visits or emergency callouts, testing installed systems in accordance with master service agreements (MSAs), fixing any faults and assessing the availability and condition of critical spares.
Prepare and log reports following any remote support or visits to client sites.
Ensure that effective and up-to-date documentation is available for all systems and distributed to relevant parties.
Ensure that all faults or issues are logged as tickets in Zen Desk, correctly assigned, and tracked through to completion.
Ensure that reporting processes are followed, immediately escalating high-risk faults or issues to Senior Engineers or Technical Director.
Work closely with the Development team and any external software developers to ensure that client software is maintained and up-to-date.
Provide on-site software testing and feedback to the Development team or any external software developers.
Innovation Lounge and Studio
Assist with day-to-day operational support for the Innovation Lounge.
Contribute to servicing and maintenance of all installed equipment at our client's studio including (but not limited to) the Innovation Lounge, Master Control Room, XR/Broadcast Studio, Server Room and VC facilities.
Take a proactive approach to best serve internal business technology needs.
Provide technical advice to the wider team.
Attend internal, client and supplier meetings where required.
Attend trade shows or supplier demo days where required.
Key Relationships
Work as a member of the team, developing strong relationships with colleagues across all departments.
Represent the Engineering team in both internal and client or supplier settings.
Demonstrate a ‘can-do attitude, especially towards problem solving.
Be proactive in helping others.
Work collaboratively with Account Managers, Producers and Project Managers to create and deliver against project briefs, design documents, schedules of works (SoWs), and master service agreements (MSAs).
Work collaboratively with budget holders and colleagues in Finance to ensure that all procurement is performed in line with company policy, costed against the correct budget or project code, and provide invoices and receipts in a timely manner or when requested.
Provide technical or professional expertise to colleagues on engineering or IT issues.
Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and third parties.
Foster good working relationships with freelancers, contractors and suppliers.
Support the Senior Leadership Team, bringing new ideas and critical thinking.
Escalate key issues to senior colleagues for advice, support and direction as required.
Raise your internal profile through knowledge exchange and internal presentations.
Based in Greenwich, salary £40k-£ 45k p.a. plus Share options after 12 months and

Your skills and experience
Required
Significant, highly skilled, specialist knowledge and proficiency in two or more of the following areas: pro AV installation; systems integration; show control; projection mapping; XR/virtual production; corporate video conferencing; master control room (MCR) operations; hybrid events.
Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety requirements and best practise when working with computing and technology equipment in a variety of situations (e.g., workshop RD, studios, construction sites, occupied corporate spaces).
Basic understanding of electrical safety.
Competent use of hand and battery-operated power tools.
Excellent general IT skills.
Thorough understanding of basic IP network principles, such as addressing and routing.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organisational, time management and planning skills with the ability to prioritise as appropriate.
Methodical problem-solving skills, the ability to use initiative, and to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to share knowledge and transfer skills and capabilities.
Good understanding of commercial project life cycles.
An interest and enthusiasm for cutting edge technology and design.
A desire to learn new skills and plug any gaps in your knowledge.
Desirable
Understanding of more advanced IP network principles, such as VLANs, subnets, gateways and firewalls.
Experience with AV-over-IP technologies, such as Dante, NDI or SDVoe.
Experience with multi-projector blending or video wall calibration.
Experience with lighting control protocols, such as DMX or DALI.
Experience with show control and interaction protocols, such as OSC or TUIO.
Some knowledge or experience of physical computing concepts.
Comfortable working at height.
Full UK driving licence.
