- The British Museum is recruiting for an Audio-Visual Team Leader to join the Information Services department.
The post holder will supervise, manage and support the Museum’s AV team, deliver a high level of service supporting AV technologies throughout the Museum and support and manage AV provision for onsite events, online events and in planning and installing exhibitions in the temporary and permanent galleries.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Leading the AV Support team to deliver and support the Museum’s events programmes, Galleries, Exhibitions and Meeting Room AV technology.• Designing and building the AV systems which are required for temporary exhibitions and permanent galleries including producing and reviewing technical drawings.• Ensuring the delivery of a high level of service supporting AV throughout the Museum in areas such as the galleries, exhibitions, meeting rooms, Lecture theatres and the Samsung Digital Discovery Centre (SDDC).• Working closely with users to identify and satisfy their requirements, scope out and advise departments about AV technologies, and solutions, in line with requirements for galleries and exhibitions.• Selecting and purchasing equipment and services; dealing with technical consultants and providers; whilst as required undertake small work assignments evaluating new software or hardware, or other potential AV technology innovation.Person Specification:• Demonstrable working experience, with practical knowledge of AV equipment, installation and event management, including setup, configuration and support.• Experience of working in a structured support environment and knowledgeable in evaluating and configuring new AV technologies.• Experience in organising team workloads across a wide variety of tasks for a wide variety of stakeholders• An excellent communicator, with the ability to successfully work with colleagues at all levels and explain complex technical issues in a comprehensible manner.• Ability to remain calm under pressure and able to respond flexibly in reactive situations whilst prioritising according to agreed frameworks.Based in Central London, salary is £42,804 p.a. plus benefits.Deadline for applications is 12 noon on 23rd December 2022Please apply via this link stating Job Ref.
