- The Opportunity
Our client is looking for an Audio Visual Service Engineer who can set up and service cutting-edge audio visual equipment for businesses. If you're an ambitious team player with a solid and demonstrable experience working as a Field Service/AV Engineer within the AV industry, then they can offer you a challenging role in a company that's going places.
You've gotta love tech with a passion. That's a given.
But they are also looking for a perfectionist who knows the importance of the technology you're providing for their precious clients (the ones the sales team worked hard to land).
You take pride in your work, no matter how small the job is: whether you're delivering a perfect and impactful cable finish, or testing something for the umpteenth time, you strive to be the best. And your attitude is positive and upbeat.
You get a kick out of meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure, plus you're equally as comfortable being part of a team as you are out on your lonesome.
Everything they work on needs to be configured and tested thoroughly, so they are after someone who is unflappable. When stuff happens (and it will), you'll need to find a solution, while keeping a clear head.
Every job is different, so you'll never get bored.
You will mainly be covering the London area, but sometimes they need your help in other parts of the UK with the amazing opportunity of occasionally hopping over to Europe and the odd overnight stay.
You will be reporting to the Service Delivery Manager working as part of the Service Team with responsibility for onsite fault finding as well as servicing a wide range of AV hardware and software solutions for commercial clients.
We need you to be able to provide advice, support and training to end users and be well prepped for Planned Preventative Maintenances on off site!
Cards on the table time. You'll get all the training and help under the sun, but its important that you're a proactive self-starter who can learn fast.
Based in London salary is circa £35k p.a. plus van or a car allowance and benefits.
Your skills and experience
An excellent working knowledge of how to wire, install and configure a variety of AV Video Conferencing systems. This includes creative fault-finding and providing preventative measures.
You'll have excellent soldering, crimp and terminating skills. Audio DSPs don't send you into a spin and the key principles behind VOIP/SIP integration are locked in with excellent working knowledge of networks. Reading schematics, drawings wiring diagrams is instinctive and your ability to provide exceptional customer focus and building on customer relationships is all in a day's work.
You also know that RS232 isn't something out of Star Wars. They're command strings that you're confident creating and testing.
We need you to be a CSCS/ECS (or equivalent) card holder.
Oh and to have a valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
It would also help if you have:
▪Prior knowledge working with traditional video codecs from Polycom Cisco
▪Experience of working with software such as Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms, Starleaf or similar
▪SY, Creston, Extron, AMZ control systems programming knowledge
▪Worked with AV over IP solutions such as HDMI over IP, Dante and AVB
▪Ability to make small changes to control systems
▪IPAF, PASMA CTS
