The Opportunity

As a Video Conferencing Installation Technician, you will shadow a Senior Video conferencing Engineer and perform hands-on installation of a wide range of video conferencing and integrated audio and video equipment (particularly codecs) into corporate boardrooms and meeting rooms. You will work with Polycom manufactured kit, but also Tandberg/Cisco and Lifesize on occasion. You will get involved at various sites around the world, but primarily in the UK and mostly in the London area. As part of a two person team you will install whole systems, including Polycom and Tandberg video conferencing suites, telepresence suites and board room systems (VC, audio and video). System installation will involve cable pulling, screen installation, rack building and codec installation. This role offers the opportunity to receive ongoing training and development to keep you up to date with the latest technologies in the Video Conferencing and unified communications market.

Salary: £16 – 18K + Benefits: laptop & mobile

Your Skills, Qualities and Achievements

This role requires a technically strong and practically capable individual who wants to forge a career in Video Conferencing installation engineering. You will need to have a strong interest in IT and communications technologies and are likely to have studied these subjects in further education. Demonstrable practical skills (drilling, cable pulling, wall mounting) are essential- this is a physically demanding role. As well as being technically savvy, you will also need to be presentable and a good communicator, able to work with a variety of individuals with varying degrees of technical knowledge, including installation engineers, control system programmers, technical sales people, IT Managers and non-technical clients (senior managers in corporate organisations).
