The Opportunity As a Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on varied and challenging audio visual and video conferencing systems, from client brief stage and pre-sales through to design, design development, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance and support. This will require liaison with clients at senior level and liaison with other professionals working on the project, including technical sales, CAD technicians, AV systems designers, installers, programmers and commissioning engineers. You will also supervise works done by the engineering team and the Site Manager, as well as scheduling design and installation work and oversee the procurement of required equipment and materials. Preparation and monitoring of project budget is also under your control. It will be your responsibility to ensure compliance with main contract conditions and to define the scope of and appoint specialist sub-contractors in consultation with the Project Team. You will have major input into the direction and success of projects, working in a consultative way to achieve the client objectives within budget and on time. You will be given full support by a strong technical team with vast experience of complex AV, VC and control systems. Your Skills, Qualities and Achievements Must be a proven Technical Project Manager with strong experience of business driven technology infrastructure projects, including high-end AV solution installation projects, video conferencing & telepresence installation projects. Must be able to demonstrate previous success in projects from pre-sales through to delivery stage. You will have delivered high value integrated AV technology projects in the corporate sector with blue chip companies. Must have worked with corporate and/or government clients and in multi-discipline project teams, and have the ability to work with a variety of professionals. Must have a strong working understanding of AV solutions, including lighting systems, audio systems and video systems, touch-screen technology, digital signage, video conferencing and complete boardroom solutions; their design, installation, programming and testing. An understanding of AV systems integration with IP networks and existing IT systems is essential. A strong understanding of the capabilities of control systems (such as Crestron & AMX) is required, although programming is not a requirement. Must have the ability and presence to liaise with clients at senior level, external consultants and project directors. Must be at home on-site and in an office and be IT literate, with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook; knowledge of Microsoft Project would be an advantage. Prince2 certification would be an advantage, as would CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D Infocomm qualifications. Most projects will be based in and around London and the South of England, but there will be occasions when you may be required to travel to other parts of the UK.
