The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Digital Signage or AV Project Manager to work for a world leading DS company.

The role is to oversee successful, profitable project delivery of Digital Signage Visual Communications and Content Management systems in accordance with quality, policy and best practice guidelines. You will be responsible for the full life cycle of Project Delivery from risk assessing Project Packs from the Sales Order Processing activity, throughout the entire design, installation, configuration and training delivery to successful completion, handover and lessons learned exercises.
Given the nature of Project Management you must be flexible, innovative, pragmatic and an excellent communicator, with the ability to work on own initiative with little direct supervision yet must understand when escalation and management support is needed to address risks before they become issues.

Key responsibilities:

▪Scoping, preliminary planning, estimation and risk management of new projects, resulting in outline Project Plans, escalations and communication/alignment with clients.
▪Taking leadership responsibility for project team members consisting of Solutions Engineers, Business Application Engineers, AV Installation Technicians, and 3rd Party Services, and planning, communicating and aligning deployment schedules for these team members in-line with the project plan.
▪Planning and then running the Project Schedule and the deployment of resources, ensuring very high levels of communications to both internal and external stakeholders, addressing risks and proactively managing the quality, cost and time variables throughout project delivery.
▪Communicating, and empathising with clients, customers, resellers and other stakeholders to ensure that their expectations are realised and their satisfaction ensured.
▪Ensuring Management and Senior Management are kept informed about critical risks that cannot be mitigated and which may result in customer problems, not achieving the planned profitability, or not being able to meet the intended technical solution.
▪Creating, maintaining and communicating key project deliverables related to scope, customer agreements, technical solution, risk mitigation actions (OI lists), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and all information necessary for successful delivery of solutions as well as for downstream consumption by Technical Support.
▪As the role of Project Manager is considered a senior role within the team, Project Managers are expected to proactively and positively contribute to Process Improvement, Lessons Learned and Knowledge Sharing activities (including both local (UK) activities as well as associated overseas (U.S. and UAE) activities).

Other responsibilities:

Keep up to date with technology advances through company training and technical information provided.
Assisting with general customer enquiries.
Attendance in regular meetings, conferences and WebEx sessions, both local and global.
Adherence to company's Health and safety policy.
Adherence to ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
Any other reasonable requests made by line manager or senior management.

Your skills and experience

You must be able to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and bottom line profitability throughout the delivery of our client's projects. The following competencies are required of such an individual:

▪BA, BS or BEng Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical subject preferred.
▪High levels of PC literacy, with high level of proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
▪Two to five years experience in a technical project delivery role.
▪Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to drill into detail at the same time as maintaining a helicopter view of project issues, status, progress and resource deployments.
▪A broad knowledge of primary products supported by our client (Digital Signage software and hardware) and their integration into Networks, onto Servers, and in Data Collection methods from 3rd party databases including some experience in cloud based CMS, SAAS, HTML5, JavaScript, Css and SQL application.
▪Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to present topics to a variety of audiences.
▪Desire to learn continuously
▪Ability to provide effective leadership to Project Team Members such as AV Installation and 3rd Party Services.
▪Ability to establish quickly a strong rapport with others
▪Ability to communicate effectively, using strong active listening skills to maximize understanding of different customer environments
▪Ability to use information effectively and apply good judgment in solving problems
▪Good attention to detail.
▪Willingness to keep senior management appraised of potential areas of concern, escalating and seeking support when necessary.
▪Ability to complete administrative tasks consistently and on time.
▪Flexibility and willingness to help others as needed.
▪Ability and willingness to travel.
▪Audio Visual technology awareness, such as Digital and Analog systems (VGA, DVI, HDMI, Display-Port), Distribution and Extension techniques, Cable limitations, display resolutions, bit- rates, Colour Depth, refresh rates, bracketry, H-Frame Mounting, Projection Throw distances, Video-wall and Image Processing Technologies etc.,
▪IT technology awareness such as Databases, Server, Client, Network Topology, Bandwidth requirements and so forth.

All of the above competencies are essential. A strong technical aptitude is essential, and familiarity with client/server applications and relational databases is desired.

Ideally you will also possess:

▪Formal training in Structured Project Management Methodologies such as PMI, Prince II
▪An understanding of IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL
▪Excellent MS Project, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word knowledge, including the ability to manipulate, analyse and present data, metrics and KPIs.
▪Structured Planning knowledge such as WBS, 3-Point-Estimation, and V-Model, Waterfall, Iterative or Agile Lifecycles
▪Knowledge of structured Process Improvement Methodologies such as Six-Sigma or Lean.
