As Hire Desk and Operations Manager, you will be one of the main managers in our client's expanding team. With a place on the Management team, you will be at the forefront of operational decisions and have an input into the growth of the company.
Your main duties will include:-
▪To produce, organise as well as co-ordinate with project managers and Events co-ordinator the production of good quality quotations and proposals to existing and new clients over the telephone and face-to-face.
▪To develop with the Directors a Sales strategy for increasing the sales of the Hire Desk, to be involved in Sales planning meetings.
▪Logistics planning for events including (but not limited to); equipment, personnel, vehicle hire, transportation costs, and technical support
▪Overseeing and ensuring that all AV equipment is tested, updated (software) and prepped, including testing content before shipping to events
▪Management of Health Safety systems and procedures within the London office and warehouse to become Fire Warden and First Aider
▪Management of the hire desk team, technical team (to allocate jobs and coordinate their day-to-day activities) and team of subcontractors onsite and in the field
▪Management of departmental budgets (with assistance from the Finance team) to manage and keep costs down for sub-hiring, freelancers and staffing.
Based in South East London, salary is negotiable circa 30k-36k p.a. plus pension etc.,
Your skills and experience
This role would suit someone who is currently on Hire desk or an Events Organiser, Technical Operations Manager or Senior technician with good office skills and a desire to progress to a Senior Management position within a company. The candidate should possess strong leadership skills.
You will need:-
▪Excellent technical experience with a minimum of 4 years in the AV or technical event industry and up-to-date knowledge of the latest AV and IT technologies
▪Detailed understanding of the Technical and Event industry
▪Outstanding leadership skills able to manage, support, motivate and coach people with experience of recruitment, leading on team meetings and appraisals.
▪Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
▪Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills
▪Ability to continually deliver an outstanding service
▪Can work well under pressure and can resolve issues diplomatically and calmly
▪Superb administrative skills is confident at using Microsoft Office and using IT software such as SAGE, Hire Track, Inspire etc.
▪Financially aware with the ability to manage and negotiate on reducing costs for suppliers and sub-hires, and to continuously look to increase sales and reduce costs.
▪Ability to stay calm under pressure, but also to lead with power if the situation is required.
